Good Seth Godin post on Solving Problems

head-clickme2Seth Godin had a good post today about the difference between solving problems and just creating solutions.  Too many times, companies create and try to sell solutions that aren’t really solving any problems.  Reading this post made me feel good about the way in which we built the Appingo system.  We wrote more about our process in this post about Bottom-Up Software Design.

We built Appingo to solve the problems that we closely observed in production and editorial departments.  We tested it with the people who would actually be using the software and adjusted it accordingly.  It took us a long time to build Appingo because of this (4 years of work!), but we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.  We wanted our software to SOLVE PROBLEMS.  And it does.  And as we bring on more and more clients, we are receiving great feedback for improvements and implementing those as well.

Thanks Seth for a great post.  We hope we live up to your message…

Derek
