More Life, More Projects, Less Hassle

And you may ask yourself-well…how did I get here?
—Talking Heads

We’ve all had those moments.

I worked for a children’s book publisher, I went early so I could shuffle pages in 20 inboxes of editors and designers alike. I’d prioritize their day based on tracking/ circulation sheet deadlines. I printed “circ sheets” on colored paper to determine their urgency. They had key names like “Mean Green—Need changes by noon” or “Rushin’ Red—Need changes before 10:00. I MEAN IT!”.

I was a very good managing editor.

That was my day: shuffle, manage, print; circ-sheets,  pub schedules, spreadsheets, notes, and meetings, meetings, meetings. Occasionally, I’d need to investigate why an image  was missing on page 17.

Six years later, we decided to start a family…and that’s when I discovered there was a better way to make books. Appingo had what I needed. I could work at home, raise a family, enjoy having everything I needed—files, contact details, budgets, art, and more easily at my fingertips. I would head to the office for meetings once a week or so, but mostly I managed 55 titles, 4 large reference books, and handful of other projects. This was not simple, but it was manageable and I didn’t loose my mind.
.
And best of all, I could get what I needed and do what I needed without the hassle and the commute. And I slipped in the occasional nap to refresh my batteries.
How did I get here?
Appingo helped me get here.

I love my life and my work and my family. Above all else, I’m enjoying the ride.

  • How sensible – work from home and be incredibly productive. And take the occasional nap (or substitute other living activity). Isn’t that what we all want?

Work 2.0. What production manager wouldn’t want an Appingo in their life?

  • I’m a Project Manager and I run a Project Management website for years now; this is the first time I hear about Appingo.

I just checked it and it does seem very interesting…
