Art Log: A new perspective

We were working with a publisher customer today who raised an interesting question.

Can the Appingo Art Log model a workflow that segregates illustration, photos and also reflects a pool of possible image choices, a pool of first cut choices, and a set of final images?

An interesting discussion followed. We talked about chapter organizaion. We discussed the problems of the FTP folder organization the publisher uses. One of the PM’s suggested naming the chapters CH01-photo, CH01-illustration, etc.

Our trainee had taught us a new way to look at our own system. Thank you.

Chapter sections in the art log are ‘buckets’. They can be identified in any way that makes sense to the team managing the project! The Appingo system is a flexible, capable platform that can be modeled to fit the way you work.

Now, we are thinking of building several sections of the art log. Images from the ‘Sketches’ section can be assigned to a ‘Render Illustrations’ task assigned to the illustrator, final files can be posted to the ‘Finals’ section. Images from the ‘Possible’ section can be assigned to the editor, and posted back to the ‘First Cut’ section, and so on.

A very interesting new way to utilize a very powerful system.  To see more about Appingo’s Content Management features and the Art Log, check out the demo video on our Our Software page
